Marie-laurie Vanegas is a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and earned her Masters degree from Florida International University. Before making the switch to Endocrinology, she had prior experience in Internal Medicine where she treated patients with a variety of conditions including endocrinological disorders.
As a South Florida native, it has been her goal to meet the needs of her community and provide personalized care for each of her patients. She is a strong believer in patient education and dedicates time to ensure her patients understand disorders and can be more involved with their health.
Matt Eden is a nationally certified physician assistant specializing in endocrinology. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and then earned his Master of Science at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He is certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants, as well as the Florida Board of Medicine.
Matt enjoys providing care for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as managing thyroid and parathyroid disorders. He has a special interest in weight management and weight loss treatments to improve the overall well-being of the patient. He believes strongly in improving the patient’s understanding of their heath conditions, and to provide the education and resources so that each patient has the ability to improve their health on a day-to-day basis.
Dr. Alex J. Manzano is a board-certified physician by the American Board of Internal Medicine to practice Endocrinology. He is come to MDE with recognized experience in the Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County areas. Dr. Manzano earned his medical degree from Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil (Ecuador), and completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital/Saint Raphael Campus in New Haven, Connecticut.
He went on to serve as chief medical resident for the Internal Medicine training program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine regional campus in West Palm Beach, Florida. Dr. Manzano then completed the J. Maxwell Mckenzie Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Manzano is actively involved in research. He has accomplished various publications in the field of thyroid and parathyroid disease. He also is responsible for the Endocrinology rotation for second- and third-year Internal Medicine residents from Mount Sinai Medical Center residency program. Dr. Manzano has enjoys taking care of patients with thyroid and parathyroid diseases, thyroid nodules/cyst, thyroid cancer, and adrenal disorders. Dr. Manzano’s special interest is in the utilization of technology (continue glucose monitor and insulin pumps) for the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and hopes to make an impact in growing the number of patients that take advantage of these life changing devices.
He is a certified trainer for various types of insulin pumps and Continuous glucose sensors (CGM). Dr. Manzano is an active member of the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, and the American Thyroid Association.
Dr. Rojas is a dual board certified physician by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She attended medical school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
She continued her medical training in the US, where she completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Following her residency, she moved to Miami where she graduated from the J. Maxwell McKenzie/Jackson Memorial Hospital Endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism fellowship from the University of Miami Miller school of medicine.
Dr. Rojas opened her private practice in 2017. Treating patients with Type 1 and Type II Diabetes Mellitus is one of her main interests. She is an expert on starting patients on and managing insulin pump devices and continuous glucose monitors (CGM).
She also enjoys treating thyroid disorders and performs thyroid biopsies and procedures at the office. She has a particular interest in transgender medicine and helping patients transition; the process for recognizing, accepting, and expressing patients gender identity; by providing patients with her expertize in hormone therapy.
Dr Rojas also treats patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome, osteoporosis, pituitary, adrenal disease and all other less common endocrinological disorders.
